SVA

Kalaghoda, Mumbai
1400 sq.ft.
Completed
November 2020

The SVA store is located in Kalaghoda, Fort. One of the prime locations in Mumbai known for its art and craft history, museums and cafes. The brief was to design a space that would showcase the design aesthetics of SVA which is a blend of luxurious traditional outfits and contemporary styling. The mood board for this project was developed essentially with modern aesthetics and Moroccan influences.

This narrative was brought to life by using sand beige as the primary color. Apart from the grey floor, all walls, ceiling and columns take up the monotone of the sand beige color.  Sand colored velvet fabric adds softness to the women’s section and the changing room, while leather finish grey limestone stone in the men’s couture area lends it a more rugged feel. The large expanse of the space required us to add design elements to create areas like the Bridal section, the photo booth/media wall, the billing area and the outdoor garden area. Inspired from the minimalist design of an arch –  partitions and furniture pieces were designed to separate the areas but still retain the circulation in the store.

We designed small interesting corners in the balcony, adorned with sleek vintage wooden furniture which captures a great view of the district. The natural greens added to the outdoor and indoor area complement and enhance the ambiance of the space as a whole.
